Still on the list to do: eat at Dinks and Mazzios, shop the Gap outlet, hit the casino, and visit with the Gordons. Who knew this town could keep us busy!

The Ville
I forgot to bring the cord to connect the camera to the computer, so there will be no pictures until I get home. Sorry. But, I thought I would give the run down of our trip to the Ville. In a town that has nothing to do, we have somehow kept ourselves really busy. We arrived on Tuesday night to surprise my dad for his birthday. Bella and Lily did great on the plane. Bella talked the whole time while Lily slept. The ride home from the airport wasn't so pleasant. Lily screamed the entire time. Finally, I had to get her out of the car seat and hold her (don't tell the police). One can only take so much screaming. On Tuesday Greg went golfing, while we just hung around the house. On Wednesday we went to Woolaroc. I forget how much I love this place. It is so beautiful and really fun for kids. I especially appreciate the culture now that I'm older. Today my grandparents came to visit and meet Lily for the first time. We had lunch at the infamous Murphy's. I wish I could bottle that dressing and bring it home! And...the hot hamburger...oh, I ate the whole thing!! Greg and I actually got to sneak out for a dinner date while my parents had the girls. Bella went to the duck pond (those ducks are crazy!!) with my dad, and mom kept Lily.

To infinity and beyond...(that is being tired)
I am a sleeper. Always have been. My parents never had problems telling me to go to bed. I was always in bed by 9:00. But, with motherhood comes this new found ability to function on little to no sleep. My mom says you don't get a good night's rest until your kids have gone off to college. I have a long way to go. Between having a newborn who needs to wake up and eat, often times not wanting to go back to sleep right away, and a toddler who needs to get up and go to the bathroom or has a nightmare I am running on about 4 hours of sleep a night. It is starting to take it's toll on my ability to think clearly throughout the day. In a couple of weeks I am suppose to go back to work. I am wondering how on earth this will be possible. As I sit typing right now, it is 1:00 pm and I still haven't showered, brushed my teeth, or changed out of my pj's. (sorry, I know it's gross.) Yes, Greg is a big help. Especially when it comes to taking care of Bella. But I'm not sure how anyone can really replace a full night's rest. I try to nap in the day, but again with constant interrupted sleep I start each day feeling exhausted all over again. I'm not sure this is making me a good mom. Outside activities have been replaced with videos. Bathtime has been replaced with quick showers. Cooking has been replaced with anything that is take-out or microwaveable. Cleaning..well, there is none. Disciplining is almost too much effort. Running errands is out of the question. Exercising takes every last ounce I have. Anyone feeling my pain???

Easter Fun
Happy Easter everyone! This Easter was Lily's first official holiday! We spent Easter weekend with Grammy. (Papa had to stay behind and work on renovations. We missed him!) Lily also enjoyed her first visit to church. (She slept the whole time!)

What to wear??
For opening day Isabella decided to look like her Daddy. Although they didn't actually go to the game, they sure looked cute!

3 week update
Today Lily is 3 weeks old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It seems like we just brought her home from the hospital this past weekend. Lily had her 2 week check up today. She weighed in at 9 lbs. That's an amazing accomplishment in our eyes, considering her older sister took a month to gain her birth weight. Lily has surpassed her birth weight in just 3 weeks. She was in the 75th percentile. We are so proud! Here are a few of the newborn pictures Carrie took this weekend. There were so many good ones, but you'll have to wait for her birth announcement to come out to see the rest. Thanks Carrie!!

The First Week at Home
Well, we have survived our first week at home. Much due to all the help from Greg's mom and all the other people who have kindly brought by food and friends for Isabella. We thank you so much! Lily is doing great! We took her in for a weight check and she is gaining. That is a big deal to us since Isabella was never a gainer. She is nursing well, and I am trying to keep up. All and all we are very happy with our growing family and feel so blessed.
Things that are easier the 2nd time: recovery, accepting help, being able to go on less sleep, nursing, multi-tasking...
Things that are harder the second time: finding time to sleep, dividing time between two children (this one is the saddest), getting out of the house, keeping the house picked up from all the baby stuff and toys a 2 year old can drag out, being in two places at once (i.e. feeding Lily and putting Isabella to bed)
