The Ville

I forgot to bring the cord to connect the camera to the computer, so there will be no pictures until I get home. Sorry. But, I thought I would give the run down of our trip to the Ville. In a town that has nothing to do, we have somehow kept ourselves really busy. We arrived on Tuesday night to surprise my dad for his birthday. Bella and Lily did great on the plane. Bella talked the whole time while Lily slept. The ride home from the airport wasn't so pleasant. Lily screamed the entire time. Finally, I had to get her out of the car seat and hold her (don't tell the police). One can only take so much screaming. On Tuesday Greg went golfing, while we just hung around the house. On Wednesday we went to Woolaroc. I forget how much I love this place. It is so beautiful and really fun for kids. I especially appreciate the culture now that I'm older. Today my grandparents came to visit and meet Lily for the first time. We had lunch at the infamous Murphy's. I wish I could bottle that dressing and bring it home! And...the hot hamburger...oh, I ate the whole thing!! Greg and I actually got to sneak out for a dinner date while my parents had the girls. Bella went to the duck pond (those ducks are crazy!!) with my dad, and mom kept Lily.

Still on the list to do: eat at Dinks and Mazzios, shop the Gap outlet, hit the casino, and visit with the Gordons. Who knew this town could keep us busy!

To infinity and beyond...(that is being tired)

I am a sleeper. Always have been. My parents never had problems telling me to go to bed. I was always in bed by 9:00. But, with motherhood comes this new found ability to function on little to no sleep. My mom says you don't get a good night's rest until your kids have gone off to college. I have a long way to go. Between having a newborn who needs to wake up and eat, often times not wanting to go back to sleep right away, and a toddler who needs to get up and go to the bathroom or has a nightmare I am running on about 4 hours of sleep a night. It is starting to take it's toll on my ability to think clearly throughout the day. In a couple of weeks I am suppose to go back to work. I am wondering how on earth this will be possible. As I sit typing right now, it is 1:00 pm and I still haven't showered, brushed my teeth, or changed out of my pj's. (sorry, I know it's gross.) Yes, Greg is a big help. Especially when it comes to taking care of Bella. But I'm not sure how anyone can really replace a full night's rest. I try to nap in the day, but again with constant interrupted sleep I start each day feeling exhausted all over again. I'm not sure this is making me a good mom. Outside activities have been replaced with videos. Bathtime has been replaced with quick showers. Cooking has been replaced with anything that is take-out or microwaveable. Cleaning..well, there is none. Disciplining is almost too much effort. Running errands is out of the question. Exercising takes every last ounce I have. Anyone feeling my pain???

Easter Fun

Happy Easter everyone! This Easter was Lily's first official holiday! We spent Easter weekend with Grammy. (Papa had to stay behind and work on renovations. We missed him!) Lily also enjoyed her first visit to church. (She slept the whole time!)
Grammy and her girls on their way to church.
Doesn't my husband look so handsome!
Isabella (the princess that she is) received a "princess" Easter basket. She was lovin' the Easter bunny!
On Saturday we went to church for an Easter egg hunt. Isabella couldn't wait to hunt for the eggs. Instead of scooping up as many as she could, she would pick up one at a time and open it. However, it was daddy who felt the need to gather as many as he could! We had to remind him it was for kids under 5.
Bella in the hula-hoop contest. We have some practicing to do.
Of course, Easter wouldn't be complete without the coloring of some eggs. This is Grammy's tradition with Bella.

What to wear??

For opening day Isabella decided to look like her Daddy. Although they didn't actually go to the game, they sure looked cute!

Then sometimes Isabella likes to dress herself. She somehow managed to put all of this on all by herself. She came prancing in the bathroom to show me her outfit. She was so proud of herself! I personally think the red socks add a nice touch.

We had a nice visit from Shana and Aylah.
All the kiddos on the couch.
We love it when Grandma and Baba come to visit.

Lovin' her Baba..

1 Month

Today Lily turned 1 month old. I can't believe she is already a month old. It feels like we just came home from the hospital this weekend. We love having our little Lily at home. She is simply precious. She has already changed so much. She loves to be cuddled and held as much as possible. She has made a 4 hour stretch at night (praise the Lord!). She has decided to spit up a little now. Lily is pretty much the most alert baby I've seen. She is awake all morning, sleeps all afternoon, and is fussing all evening. Yes, we may have a little of the colic on our hands. Big sister Isabella has done a pretty good job adjusting this first month. She plays with Lily and always acknowledges her. She is super sweet. We are so blessed!

Yes, we have trained her well...
