Lily eats cereal

Last night I chose to give Lily some cereal. After some deliberation over why she was waking up in the middle of the night this week, I thought I would see if giving her more food would help. So...we attempted rice cereal. She loved it!! Although she had a hard time figuring out how to swallow it, she opened her mouth and ate an entire bowl. Of course some of the cereal had to end up on her face! And.....she slept all night! We are going for round #2 today.

Isabella Ballerina

Isabella just started her first dance class. She is in Pr-Dance 1, which incorporates ballet, tap, and jazz. She really loves it! I think one of her favorite parts is getting dressed up for class. Although, I was really hoping for a soccer player...I'm really proud of her!

Sleeping Beauties

Will we ever get our bedroom back? Sometime throughout the night Isabella sneaks into our room and climbs in bed with us. (The doctor says this may be due to her sleep apnea).  It use to be that she would wake us up when she did this, but we have become so accustom to it that we don't even notice until the morning when we see her sleeping so beautifully in our bed. Do I really want her climbing in bed with us? Not really, but secretly I love waking up and seeing her cuddled up to me.
Lily, on the other hand has been waking up around 5 am this week. I'm not sure why because she was sleeping until 6 or 7. She is waking up hungry and ready to play. After about an hour she is ready to go back to sleep. She naps so much better in the swing which is in our bedroom, and will sleep until about 9.
On another note...she rolled over for the first time yesterday. This morning she was all about rolling over, but gets a little frustrated once she is on her tummy. I would love to show you the video, but I can't figure out how to upload videos onto the blog anymore. So if you know how I would love the help!

Bumbo

Look who's the big girl now! 3 1/2 months and loves to sit up. My baby is growing fast!!

Princess in Training

Bella decided to dress Lily up last night before bed. I'm not sure if we can handle two princesses, but they sure are cute! If you look closely, you can see Lily is holding a wand. Bella had originally put a crown on her head, but I thought it might be a little uncomfortable for her yet.

Happy Father's Day

We feel pretty lucky to have such amazing men in our lives. (my dad is not shown..he was sick). Happy Father's day to all the dads out there, but especially to Greg, Bill, and my Dad. You are the best fathers and grandfathers to us. We love you so much!!!!

Happy Birthday Isabella

Today we celebrated Isabella's 3rd birthday. (tomorrow is her actual birthday). We had a pool party at a neighbor's pool. Of course the theme had to be Little Mermaid.
All of Isabella's friends came to celebrate. The kids had so much fun jumping in the pool.

Most of the moms hung out in the shade. (See the two cute pregos!)
Isabella is airborne!

Lily hung out with Grammy and was such a good little sister.
All the kids had a picnic and enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs, and cupcakes. Yum!

Cupcake face!
Her big present from us was a new princess bike.
Happy Birthday Sweet Pea! We love you!!

Sweet-n-Sassy

For my birthday, mommy took me to my favorite place. Sweet-n-Sassy! I got my nails painted. I picked purple. I kept messing them up, so they had to be repainted a couple of times. Oh well.

Then I got my hair done like a princess! Don't forget all the sparkles! They also did my make-up. Purple eye shadow and clear lip gloss.

Finally, I got to walk the stage like a supermodel! What a great day!

Dancing, Tornadoes

We had quite the evening tonight. Bella went to her first dance class at Excite. She looked so precious in her leotard and hair pinned up. She talked all day about going to see Tina Ballerina. (This is a book she has about a girl going to ballet class, and ironically her teacher's name is Christina.) She was so excited she couldn't eat all day. When we got there she went into the studio and I watched from behind the glass. I was almost in tears. I looked at my little girl and for the first time I really felt like she wasn't so little anymore. She wasn't a baby anymore. She looked like a big kid doing something on her own without mommy. This probably sounds so silly, but I was so proud of her and at the same time sad. My little girl is growing up!
Unfortuneatly, dance classed was cut short. Flower Mound was under a severe tornado warning and they told us to leave. Bella cried all the way home. We got the girls and headed to the bath tub to wait out the storm. I told her she could go back next week and gave her an ice cream cone. That seemed to do the trick.
Tomorrow I am taking Isabella to meet Grammy in Oklahoma. She is going to stay the weekend with Grammy and Papa by herself. I'm not sure if she gets it that we are not going to be with her, but I do. It will be the longest she has ever been away from me. (2 nights while I was in the hospital was the max). I am really glad she is getting this opportunity to have some quality time with the grandparents, but I am really going to miss her. I keep thinking that this will be a nice break and I may even get some things done around here. However, I love that girl to pieces and it is so hard to know that I will not be there if she gets sad, hurt, or lonely. Nita is so amazing with Bella. She does a wonderful job of taking care of her every need, but there is something about being a mom that gives you an innate sense of protecting your young. Hope I can make it!
Lily, on the other hand, may enjoy being the only child for a few days. :)

Fireworks

On Saturday night we went to Highland Village's Red, White and Blue festival. Don't ask me why it's in June and not July. We had a lot of fun listening to music and hanging out with the entire Friend family. Bella enjoyed the kid zone with bounce houses. The firework show was one of the best I've ever seen. Bella loved it. Lily slept through it.

3 months

Sweet baby Lily is 3 months old. Wow! Time has gone by so fast. I feel a since of accomplishment having made it 3 months with a new baby and a toddler. Lily is a great baby! She eats really well. (That's a big deal since her sister was a terrible eater). She loves sucking on her fingers. It is so cute! She constantly smiles at us, and loves to be talked to and held. She's done a great job sleeping at night, (hope I don't jinx myself) but she will sleep from about 9-6. Yeah! We love having her be a part of our lives.
