We had quite the evening tonight. Bella went to her first dance class at Excite. She looked so precious in her leotard and hair pinned up. She talked all day about going to see Tina Ballerina. (This is a book she has about a girl going to ballet class, and ironically her teacher's name is Christina.) She was so excited she couldn't eat all day. When we got there she went into the studio and I watched from behind the glass. I was almost in tears. I looked at my little girl and for the first time I really felt like she wasn't so little anymore. She wasn't a baby anymore. She looked like a big kid doing something on her own without mommy. This probably sounds so silly, but I was so proud of her and at the same time sad. My little girl is growing up!
Unfortuneatly, dance classed was cut short. Flower Mound was under a severe tornado warning and they told us to leave. Bella cried all the way home. We got the girls and headed to the bath tub to wait out the storm. I told her she could go back next week and gave her an ice cream cone. That seemed to do the trick.
Tomorrow I am taking Isabella to meet Grammy in Oklahoma. She is going to stay the weekend with Grammy and Papa by herself. I'm not sure if she gets it that we are not going to be with her, but I do. It will be the longest she has ever been away from me. (2 nights while I was in the hospital was the max). I am really glad she is getting this opportunity to have some quality time with the grandparents, but I am really going to miss her. I keep thinking that this will be a nice break and I may even get some things done around here. However, I love that girl to pieces and it is so hard to know that I will not be there if she gets sad, hurt, or lonely. Nita is so amazing with Bella. She does a wonderful job of taking care of her every need, but there is something about being a mom that gives you an innate sense of protecting your young. Hope I can make it!
Lily, on the other hand, may enjoy being the only child for a few days. :)
